1/8" and Tracy from knifemakers supply is usually very good about exchanging untouched stuff. Their customer service ranks very high on my list.

I use G10 from .60 up to .90 and have no problem cutting the rough shape with a small cheap coping saw. I sand them to final shape with a sanding mandrel on a regular hand drill, then hand sand to polish. I don't have to replace blades very often either, will usually get 2-3 sets before I swap it. For easy comparison, that's up to just about 2mm, unlike 3/8 which is about 7mm (and therefore completely incomparable). I think you will find, when you get more manageable thicknesses in hand, that they are much more cooperative.
Best of luck.

I too use a hand-coping saw for all G-10 rough cuts without issue. Just takes some elbow grease. Sure, 3/8 would be tougher.... but.,.. I think doable as str8fencer suggests.
Too bad about the mis-order -- I just ordered $35 worth of G-10, thinking WOW why is it so cheap... ordered all .012 thinking it was .12On the bright side.. I just picked up all sorts of colorful liners. Haha. Decided not to send back.

Thanked: 203Hi Guys,
i worried a bit when reading this thread as i had just bought a bunch of G10 slabs in 1/8 and 1/4 for razor scales and knife handles. All for naught. i just used a coping saw to cut out four handle slabs from the 1/4 for a couple of knives and it was really no problem. So... if anyone else is worried, just give it a go. i reckon the slower speed of a handsaw may cause less issues than the high speed of a bandsaw. Anway, it took me nearly twice as long as cutting hardwood, which is to say still not long at all.
Regards,Respectfully,
Adam.
