Thin Micarta ?
Are there any places that sell Micarta 0.90-0.100" thick? I'm not a big fan of the 1/8" thick stock you can get from most places and like the look of thinner scales. G10 is easy to come by in those sizes, but I have yet to find a place for Micarta.
Or am I stuck with having to try and evenly thin the 1/8" thick ones myself on the belt sander?

They do make tools to thickness stock. BKratchmer has access to one; it's REALLY cool.

You could make you own micarta too. It isn't that hard, and you could make them any color, and thickness. It is much cheaper than to buy them, too.

Are you talking like something similar to a wood planer?
Ehhh....I've seen how people make micarta and I'd rather just stick with something I can buy stock. They are that expensive to the point that I'd look to do it myself. Thanks for the tip though.

I don't really know how I'd describe it, but it's a machine, not a hand tool.

It's a wide-belt sander... a 1981 Timesaver 37" X 60" dual-roller....
At 2600 pounds, 440 volts, 35 Horse it's a little oversized for home use....
...but I do believe that Grizzly makes a tabletop widebelt which is much more hobby-sized and (budget friendly!)
