    Default Too much rust?

    Hi all,
I was looking at this and was wondering how much rust is too much rust. And also the shoulder looks a bit odd.

    Any comments????

Doesn't look like a good bet to me. I'd prolly leave that one alone. The rust doesn't seem too terribly bad, but you're right, the shoulder looks funny (from the angle the pic is taken at anyway), like someone tried to regrind it a bit, and badly. Maybe a better pic will clear it up.

Buggar. I really like that shape but W&B's always seem to go for $$$ no matter what the condition.
This is $10USD with no other bidders (now I know why), its a Thomas Turner's from Sheffield.

I agree with Joe in that it may be a pinch too much for the fledgling restroration enthusiast. On the other hand, if it's less than $20, it won't hurt much to practice on.

The shoulder grind itself may have been tinkered with, but the tang behind it looks to be consistant with the 1800's gooseneck WB's. If it is just going to be a shaver, ugly may not matter if it hones up good.
