Question Scales bowed in... how to straighten?

    Gents,

A little while ago I got really lucky and picked up a Dubl Duck Goldedge for a very reasonable price. It's in good shape and shaves wonderfully, but the scales are pinched in towards the wedge end, so instead of having a "C" shape, they are more like an "S" shape - this seems to make sense in my head, but seeing it in writing makes me wonder how many will understand me.

That coupled with a slightly loose pin makes the edge hit the scales if one isn't careful. Sometime ago I had seen, I'm sure I did, a post about straightening these up. I recall it involved hot water but precious little else.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? My searches come up full of results, but not what I'm looking for.

    Thanks,

    Marcos

Dirtychrome delivers! That's the exact article I was looking for (and I should have known it was Glen who came up with that).

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

All I have to do now is learn how to pin a scale
