    Default covered in greaseless compound!!!

Good lord after working with this stuff today I have come to the conclusion I need to build an application box to help prevent this stuff flying all over the workshop! what a mess!
Other then cutting a box to cover the wheels anyone have another idea? Also does anyone have thoughts on whether the glu-tite actually helps hold compound to the wheel longer. It makes a huge mess also.(very hard on my OCD!)

I haven't found that compound flies off the wheels after it's set on. I mean, yes, it does come off, but not in an all over the place type spray.

When applying, try toggling the buffer on/off to keep the wheel speed low. This should drastically reduce the spray. Also, if you make sure you let the compound sit overnight, it should firm up better and stay on the wheel longer. A good habit to get into is always reapplying the compound when you are done buffing, so when you come back it'll be ready to go.

sorry for the confusion. I was talking about when first applying to the wheel. I'll try the on off thing though.

How much are you trying to apply at one time? Sounds like your overloading and the excess is coming off. Try going lighter with your application.

I'm really not overloading it. In fact I'm just trying to get good coverage around the whole wheel. My motor is variable speed and I have it on the lowest it will go.

That was just what came off the top of my head. Maybene of the restore guys will chime in. Unfortunately my experience with those compounds is really pretty limited.

    Good luck
