Thanked: 69i made this tonight... improved upon...
i got bored again tonight.... so i went into ye olde shoppe again and removed the handle from this razor *(the one i made this thread about).....
i brought it down to fit it into a handle *(was looking at Sir Baldy's masterpieces and he inspired me).... looked around in my tool box and found a blank of curly maple i had for making some grips for my CCW pistol *(its a colt model 1903 in .32auto made in 1907).. and started making noise.... here is the blade with handle removed...
here is the blank i cut for the handle *(it has since been reshaped because the sander i have here would not accommodate the shape i had in mind...
after a lot of grinding/shaping/cursing/etc i got some 2part epoxy that we use on airplanes *(it must be good...lol..) and here is where i am right now.... waiting for the epoxy to fully cure so i can finish shaping and then the long process of finishing to bring out the burl.....
when i finish i will post photos...

looks like fun... just be sure to mind your heat while at the grinder, don't want any color creeping anywhere near your edge. Good luck!

Great! Now between baldy, shooter73734 (I hope those are the right numbers), and you, I have to build on of these! Dang you people, cant you see I'm impressionable over here!
Good job. I really like these non folding straights. I'm loving the burled wood. I just finished my first project with maple, and I will definitely be working in maple again.
