Locating a source for replacement scales.
Are there any other sources for scales and pins besides just Classic Shaving? I want to clean up some meat choppers I got on ebay. I am not sure if any of the scales from Classic Shaving would be deep enough to accommodate the blades when closed. I really do not want to shape them from scratch. But I want to use horne, bone, any thing except metal or wood. Even carbon fiber would be nice. I do not know what level of resperator and so on that is required for different marerials when working with them.

Check with Robert Williams (Papabull), and Garythepenman, too. Between those four, who are as good as I know of, you should be able to get damn near anything you want.

I am trying to get an new edge on a Dovo that suffered accelarated rusting (see relevenant thread I started some time ago). I now keep the razor open because funnily enough it does only affect the blade and not the shank. When finished I'd like a new pair of scales.
I am not interested in fancy ones, just some old (Dovo) scales would be fine. I have been tinking for a while that one of the restorers on this forum might have a pair they would otherwise bin. Of course I would need fresh plugs and instruction how to hammer them in place.
