Thanked: 0'scopes
Has anyone posted pictures from a trinocular microscope with a camera or maybe one of those USB microscopes?
I’d like an objective way to know if what I am doing to sharpen and maintain my blades is working. I can see the edge under my own scope but can’t photograph it. And I don’t know what I’m supposed to see when the blade’s edge is perfect. I’m just looking for something to compare it too.

Thanked: 346There are high-res pictures in the gallery of a variety of blades, both DE and straight.
There is this discusson over at SER that includes pictures, and yesterday there was also this thread on BnB showing photos of various DE blades. If you follow that link there are other links to other photo collections in the ensuing discussion.Last edited by mparker762; 09-07-2006 at 11:02 AM.

Thanked: 0Thanks, mparker762.
I've tried to take pictures with a digital camera held close to the eyepiece of my 'scope. I can hold it steady enough at 40x but at 400x the pics are blury. I'll try using a tripod and if it comes out I'll post pics showing after hone, after strop, after shave, and the setup I use.
Maybe I'll have to get one of those 'scope cameras or an adapter for a camera.
When viewing the blade I find that turning off the scope's light and using a flashlight from above the blade works well.
What do you guys use?
