Pheasant tail feather scales
I had a set of cracked bakelight scales, so I repaired them with epoxy but you could still see where the crack was.
I tie flies as another hobbie so I went into my feather collection and found a set of matching pheasant tail feathers that were pretty close to the same length of the bakelight scales.
I coated the scales with epoxy, carefully placed the feathers and coated them with the epoxy.
Lots of sanding, more epoxy, and polyeurothane and I have these:
They look better in person, it's hard for the camera to pick up the coloring in the feather.

Dude, very creative...but I get the feeling that if someone was to visit you,and sit still for to long... They would end up with a coat Of epoxy on on themselves...
