    Also i am looking at spiral sewn cotton wheels and they are talking about different ply example 20, 40, 80, etc what does this mean

    I prefer the firmness of the spiral wheels for greaseless, but you don't have to use spiral. Ply is referring to the number of layers of cloth that are sewn together. The more layers, the wider the wheel.
