    Default carnauba wax???

    Hello,

Can I use carnauba wax over a ca finish? I sanded my scales down to 1500 then used Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound. The scales have a decent shine but I want just a little more shine. Can I hand rub carnauba wax over the ca finish? Will it give me a mirror polish? If carnauba wax isnt the right choice what should I use?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Carnauba will definitely go right over CA, but make sure you have gotten the most shine out of each step along the way and remember that this is extremely hard wax and difficult to hand rub. I would suggest looking into something like Rennaissance wax.

    Hello,

I tried the carnauba wax and it worked really well. I used Mothers California Gold Non-abrasive Pure Carnauba Wax. It was really easy. Put a little on a soft cotton shirt and rubbed it in, let it turn slightly foggy and buffed it off.

    Thanks Deighaingeal,

    Chris

No problem. That's good stuff. Its actually different from straight carnauba, but good stuff. I purchase blocks of carnauba for buffing and that is much more difficult to apply.
    How about some pics?

    Deighaingeal,

I figured the stuff I had wasn't straight carnauba wax. Its really soft and melts from the heat of my hands. Next time I buy polishing wheels Ill get some of the real pure carnauba wax. All I have are cell phone pics.
