Default 150 Brushes in need of restoration

O.K. Actually it's down to about 144 (give or take).

I had to run to the bank for laundry money earlier and theirs a 2 part antique mall (one part on one side of the street one part on the other) just around the corner. Figured while I was in the neighborhood I'd pop in and see what I could find. Found 2 straights but nothing worth buying. I went across the steet to the other half looking more for a brush handle to work on. After making it almost completely through the store and getting ready to leave I wandered around the last corner and what do I see? A honkin' pile of brushes. picked out a couple but when I got to the front counter I noticed a sign stating $20 minimum on debit/credit. So I went back and picked out a couple more. They had the bucket full on the top shelf and about another 25+/- on a lower shelf but those were all the faux ivory and the prices were a bit higher. When I got to the front counter to pay one of the gals mentioned that the woman who brought the lot in had bought around 150 all in one lot. Except when I look at the website it say's 109 but still, who cares?

Nice Michael. They dont hold a candle to your brush, but a quality find none the less.

Thanks G. Still I couldn't have done it without your guidance.
I'm hoping to get a couple re-done to do as giveaway's for Spokane next year. There's also a newer local guy I've been e-mailing that I'll probably give one to as well.
I'll probably go back next weekend and see what they have left and pick out a couple more. That way it only costs me the price of the knot plus $10 or less so as a giveaway item it won't break me.

I love shaving brushes. I just made my first handle. hand turned it out of black limba to match some scales I made. When the set is done,I'll post it with pictures. I have a question if I may. What do you use to set your knots? Do you use a super glue or some epoxy resin? My plan was to use an expoxy resin.

I currently have some PC-7 but paln on picking up something else when I get a couple ready for knots. The epoxy's seem to be the preferred choice just make sure what you get is waterproof considering what it being used for. The marine epoxy's really are the best.
    Good luck.
