New custom in progress ....
Folks, Here is a link: To a custom build Douglas Cutlery is doing for me!
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...1278996&type=3
Doug is in the process of building me my dream razor. Douglas Cutlery will be using facebook as a way of keeping me up to date on the progress of the build. It will be between a 7/8 and 8/8 when completed (that's the plan anyway) and looks like it's beginning to be on the way.
Talk about an heirloom razor. It will be a one of a kind, with an etched hammer (please note my name, my real life nickname from all my old friends is 'Hammer'). This razor, taken from a brain storming session together will be the epitome of what my mind says a razor should look and feel like in your hand. I felt like this was my one and only chance to afford a custom, 1 off razor of my very own.
Amazing craftsman, doing amazing work, all for me!! Incredible. I'm still mainly in shock!
All my best bro's ....

There's something special about having a custom made specifically for you, to your design / specs. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Don't you know it. Talk about a keeper!! This is the most excited I have been (other than once when Don made me a set of custom scales matching my custom brush) about a razor!
Also I updated the original link to make viewing the progress easier.
Man, this is so cool!!

She is surely taking shape and starting to look special indeed, and your excitment is building, just like you were waiting to run down stairs on Christmas morning to to get at your presents, it's true what they say, the difference between Men & Boys is the price of their toys.

Holy Moly Mike,
This is going to be way cool . I love it when the vendor has a way of updating you real time as to the progress of your item . That is by far the best way to keep the customer engaged in the process as well.
Will keep checking the thread for more updates. Congrats buddy
