As is, with the mixture of woods the scales need to be glossy, IMO.
So... The blade needs to be polished, IMO.

I like the mixture of woods, and the way it's put together.
I don't understand the notch in the middle. It is not needed for function, and the curve doesn't "go" with anything else. It appears to me to be a notch for the sake of having a notch. Additionally it seems odd, to me, to see a right angle on the blade in the middle of the curved cut out in the scales.
I put the notch there because I liked the way it allowed sight "through" the razor, you don't expect it to be like that. Basically I put it there for the exact reason you feel it's "odd".

You Sir, got some admirable woodworking skills!

I like the matte finish on the scales, I also prefer satin finish over mirror on blades, so I would say maybe clean the blade a little, but no high gloss polishing. Just my humble opinion.

Nice job with the scales. The only possible issue I can see is the length of the scales past the pivot...Are you having any difficulty while stropping or honing?

It felt odd at first (just during stropping) but it was no problem getting used to.
