    Because of the shape of the scales I chose to make it more a spacer than a wedge, but it shouldn't be a problem to make it more "wedgie"

    The material itself was very easy to work with, but for it to work for scales you will probably need either three - ply guard or similar thickness. I have a couple chinese single layer pickguards, but they are too thin and far from stiff enough to work.

    try Grizzly Industrial... they have all kinds of pickguards and all kinds of inlay material, too. I'm pretty sure I'm going to try the company I linked earlier in the thread, only because it's hard to find black pearloid that's actually BLACK and not charcoal.
