    Default Is this razor ruined?

    Hi Guys,

I picked up a silverware storage box today that I am going to use for my razors. As a result I was going over some of my project razors that I haven't looked at in a while. My mother-in-law picked this one up for me at a yard sale. There is a significant frown to the blade and I'm wondering if it's completely ruined. I know that if you remove enough metal the frown will go away, but my concern with this blade is the engraving. With the bevel being so close to the engraving, I don't know that enough material can be removed and still stay out of the engraving. What do you guys think?

With all that hone wear and the frown, I probably wouldn't work on her. But can you post a shot where the stabilizer is visible? That would help.

I'd let her lie. You'd have to hone way into the stabilizer to take out the frown. I'm sure you COULD make her shave, but with so many others out there, I think there are better ways to spend your time.

If it had been honed properly, that would still be a great blade today.

Thanks guys. That's what I was thinking. I do have a lot of other blades that I could be working on. I'll toss this one into the "maybe I'll do something crazy with it" pile.
