A covered tang rebuild
An interesting project..
An ivory tang Rodgers, with shattered ivory.. heres a little picture story of how it got re-built.
Pic1: ground down tang
Pic2: further grinding, drilled out shaft in Ivory Paper micarta. Notched some teeth in the blade's tang so epoxy would hold well. also, it fit so tightly in the shaft, I had to use a rubber mallet to get it all the way in
Pic3: Epoxied in
Pic 4&5: Shaping
Pic6: getting there.. still a little too thick. I took it back to the belts after this.

Forgot to mention.. The wedge I made out of a piece of 440C stainless, which was then polished up
