first repair work - advice needed...
Hi everyone, i need some advice regarding pins and washers.
I noticed tonite that my invisible edge razor has rust between the scales and blade right at the pivot of the blade.
so i figured i will de-pin it clean her and re-pin the razor, am i correct in thinking i need 1/16th brass rod and washers to match??
I have found places on ebay that can supply brass rod for me, but ive yet to find any washers, im in the UK so would like to find a supplier thats uk based to save on delivery costs and waiting times.
thanks everyone

Kris,
Here is what I did. I went to a hobby store and bought some scale brass tubing that model train guys use. I don't know what brand you have int eh UK but over here most hobby stores carry K&S model brass. The tubing I got was 1/16 ID and 3/32 OD.
I used a jewelers saw with an 8/0 blade to slice off a thin slice of the tubing to make a tiny washer. Then I filed and sanded it to the exact thickness I wanted.

I forgot to add that one of the nice things about this method is that if you want to dome the washers you can dome the tubing before you cut the slice off.

thats a good idea never thought of using brass tubing and flattening it down to make washers will have to go hunting in the hobbystores on the weekend.
