    Question Dovo Replacement Scales

I'm thinking about picking up a couple of the Dovo replacement scales that Classicshaving sells, for use on some ebay razors with scale problems that aren't good enough to rate custom scales.

Has anyone here used these? Is it difficult to keep the blade centered during and after assembly so that it closes correctly without rubbing one side or the other?

I used the DOVO SS scales for my Satinedge. They were alright and centering is not an issue BUT they were a bit on the heavy side. Just use scales made of a different material. As long as nothing is warped (scales or the blade), you should have no rubbing issues.

I've used the Dovo scales on quite a number of razors. The ebony one's are nice, but ARE a bit light. As the ss one's are a bit heavy, the mircata one's are amazingly heavy!

It's not that tricky to pin them straight, that is, if you do not bend the pin trying to peen over the other end.

The Pakkawood ones come with a brass spacer which also makes for heavier scales.
