5/8 Clauss restore
This little Clauss was in rough shape. It came to me as just a blade with some heavy pitting. I hand sanded from 150 grit on up to 1500 then emery buff and polish.
Even though the blade was dull it still managed to bite me good!!!
I then made a set of scales for it out of some scrap hardwood. I coated the scales with tannin and let dry then applied some vinegar causing the wood to go jet black. I sanded at 1500 to bring the grain back out and applied an oil finish. Even though the blade has some pitting still ( was not worth chasing)
I think it cleaned up pretty well. Hope to home it tomorrow.

Wow amazing work wish I had a polish wheel to make mine look that pretty and I've cut my self the last time while restoring. Granted it was just a nick

Most of the polishing was done by hand. Just a quick emery buff was done on the wheel.
