Red Imp light pitting. advice?
Hi,
Ill be sending these my Red Imps out to Lynn for honing, a NOS Morris 133 and a Case 132, and was trying to load photos in a pm to him but couldn't, so I'm posting here and ill provide a link in the pm.
The Case 132 although it looks beautiful has some light pitting only on one side of the blade, toward the heel, about 4 mm off the edge. The rest of it is pristine. I was wondering if this is the kiss of death later on, or its something to just live with or repair? The photos are just the pics the sellers provided with one close up I took(best I could do) of the pitting. Any advice would help, as I really love the Case, and would like to know if its worth keeping? Or trying to find a nos red imp wedge? I'm a noob at this so forgive any naivette.
Thanks,
Basil

Thanked: 1263I'd say that razor will serve you just fine. If the pitting is 4mm away from the edge it'd take you a lifetime of regular honing to get that far

As long as the pitting doesn't effect the shave, it's all good.

Thanked: 1371The pitting shown in the picture shouldn't be a problem.
