    Default Electolysis

Hi AllI was wondering, when cleaning rust and dirt off an old blade how damaging would electrolysis be compared to sanding especially when it comes to stamps?

I'll be interested if anyone has had success with this method. I burned up a junk razor trying it - used a small battery charger for power - clearly was too much power. Works well on old hand tools.

Burned it up? What do you mean? I know there's a member who did it recently. I hope he chimes in.

I used too much power - a portion of the edge basically diapeared. Using less power might work, but I figured there were safer ways to clean a blade.

Electrolysis: passage of an electrical current through an electrolyte..........this sometimes works

Electolysis: passage of candidates cleanly through a political process.......this never seems to work

Difference received and noted. I really do wish that I had checked that. Hahaha
