    Default Washers for pinning?

    Hello everybody,

It's me again! I have finally found some brass rod locally, £6 for 6 x 12" rods. Having checked the manufacturers website (AMACO.com - American Ar) and checked the product against its code (501 56E), I have found that the rods are 18 gauge. After further searching for gauge conversions I have found that this means that the rods are 1.02 mm or 0.0403". Now, is that the stuff that you guys use for pinning scales? Hope so! Now to my question, "where do I buy the washers that will fit on these rods?" I have visited a number of craft shops here in Manchester, UK and nobody has anything.
When I do find the washers, do I need different types/sizes for the inside of the scales between the tang and the scales? If y'all know what I need and where to get them please leave some info for me.

    Thanks

    Pdav

PM CelticCrusader aka Jamie he can set you right for your side of the pond for the rod you need..

For all the sizes of washers that we use Micro Fasteners - Hobbyists Source - Locknuts - Washers - Machine Screws - Fasteners - Rivets - Wood Screws seems to be the source, you could order from them directly or you could have a "Razor Brother" from this side of the pond order for you...

Thanks for that, I'll drop him a line. As for the sizes of washers to use, do you have any info on that? The ones on the site you linked for me are sized with an "M" then a number. How do I determine the inner and outer diameters of a washer ?

    Hey there buddy!
You can't beat the bay for washers, you need size m1.6 for 1/16th inch brass rod (which is pretty standard).
    Have fun!
