    Default 7 day set restore......

Hey guys so I picked up an all original Heljestrand 32 7 day set knowing there was gonna be some restoring done. One blade will need to become a shorty because of a crack and one has a chip....both known before I bought them. The other 5 are GREAT...some light cleaning and pin tightening. so here's my question.....

Would you guys send the set to one person for the restore of the set or what do you think of sending each one to someone different. I will prob keep the 2 with blade issues together if I go the different people route. But would like to know what you guys think of this idea....

Thanks and I will post pictures once I get home!

first of all, score! - secondly, wouldn't it be better to have consistant pinning, polishing, honing etc across all the razors? Would be alot more 'sety' and probably cheaper. Just my 2c.

Absolutely agree with EisenFaust - to me one of the main attractions of a set is its very set-like nature. If it were me I would send the entire set to one restorer to maintain that appeal and consistency.

The Helje 32s are very nice indeed! I hope you enjoy them!

    Nice!!

Those woundeds are not too bad, although is that the crack 1/4 of the way along? Bummer that.

I recently obtained a 5 day set, one of which had a small crack. I decided that since I had 4 good ones, I would just keep the 5th cracked one as it was as a place holder in the set. Don't know if that idea appeals to you, but since you will have 6 decent ones, maybe you don't need to make the 7th a shorty?

Your choice of course. Lovely razors - I love my MK 32s.

What's that etched on the blades?

Thats an awesome 5 though - im sure if your willing to wait you could probably turn up two more 32's in time to replace the damaged ones. Thats what appeals to my completist mentality anyways.

The etching says "Tinoco-Porto" no idea what it means however! Yeah I have been looking for 2 others but can't seem to find one at a good price. I also my be fine with one and add the T-shell one I got from Gugi as the "Sunday"

they don't look like they need too much restoration, except the obvious ones... except for honing what restoration do you think these need? are they ivory? if so, the pins look ok from here.

Its not a HUGE restore job but there is some work to get it to a nice usable set.... there is cleaning needed on the scales and all need to be tightened...all are VERY loose in the scales. But its not a total rebuild kind of job
