Thanked: 0Blade catching on the scales
I've recently bought this Dovo Pearlex and the blade is catching on the scales making is ring when it opens but generally barely catches when it closes. I don't want to send it back as i have to pay for carriage .
Anyone know how to fix all this?
Many thanks for reading.Last edited by Grimbleby; 04-05-2012 at 04:55 PM. Reason: clearer photo

Maybe someone who has worked on the newer Dovos will chime in, but the only way for someone with less experience should attempt this would be if the pivot hole has a larger opening than required for the pin and then you could lightly shift it over by hand. Any more than this it requires a peening and that is best to not practice on a new razor. Many have broken scales doing this. All of this is assuming that the scales are straight (which they look to be in the photos). For now if it doesn't bother you too much I ould just push the blade aw3ay from the scales whenever you open or close it, so you don't ruin the edge, bend the tip or remove a section of scale.

Thanked: 0I looked up peening and gave it a few taps and now it's a bit stiffer but it is straight now. Thanks
