    I have 3 hammers under 6oz all. all polished to a mirror finish and a cutlers anvil that are also polished, I feel that is the way to much better looking work, but it's right to say that it is a bit of overkill as we all to touch up our pinning work with a bit of Dremel buffing, or similar.

    The bottom line is:Your going to have peening marks on the pin,no matter how polished the hammer or anvil is.

    The bottom bottom line is no matter how polished they are when newly finished, sooner or latter they need to be tightened again and again Tap Tap tappity tap
