    Default A brief frown

I picked up this W & B and while buffing, noticed what appeared to be a slight frown mid-blade. It is very hard for me to see by eye, but when I run my thumb down the blade, i can feel the slight frown. This may be acceptable, I don't make a habit of running my thumb down blade edges, but this one is quite dull.

Is this enough of a frown to have corrected, or do I try to hone as is?

I've enclosed 2 pics of the blade and indicated the questionable area in one:

Depends on whether you want the perfect shave, or not? Can't get the perfect shave with an imperfect blade...

Would the above even be considered a frown?

Depends on 'why the frown ?'
If you caused it on the buffers it will likely hone out.
If the spine is warped &/or its wear reflects the frown you may need to take some corrective measures.
Whatever you do keep the smile to match the spine. Nothing looks worse than straight breadknifed edges on swaybacks.

I'm not experienced enough to know how much is considered a problem.

The shape was not caused by buffing. Actually, if I lay the blade flat with the edge against a flat surface, the middle third is flat, not frowned. It does not mirror the spine profile, however. There is no warp or bend to the spine.

I would deal with it while honing as opposed to while buffing. That is always my preference.

If the spine is straight with even wear, tape it up & hone it up. You could start at a freehanded 45º to shape the edge to taste & progress from 3-5 layers of tape to whatever looks acceptable bevel size wise.
