Is never any need to wet sand Ivory, ever,is a natural animal product, would you rub WD 40 or window cleaner on your strops, your fine shoes, your prestine Horn scales? I think not.
Just dry sand it to 800 grit, buff with white diamond, renwax it,treat it once a year with mineral oil.

I will be sanding the Ivory after I'm done with the blade. they are fairly scratched up and yellowed. I was given advise to use very high grit wet dry and after to polish with cheap toothpaste after soaking in water. Does this sound sound?
