    Default Anvil

What type are you using for peening and which would you recommend?

I like a hammer head for a peening anvil also. if you do not have a vise you can just lay the hammer on the bench and use the side of the hammer head as an anvil.

I use railroad track also, although its only a 6 inch section. Very sturdy and doesn't move around on the work bench.

I have a hex anvil with graduated holes in it. Great for knocking pins out and for peening.

    My anvil is a custom-made 5-1/2 pound mini-avil.

I also have one of these cute little buggers: Tandy Leather Factory - 2 lb. Mini Anvil

I use my Shockbottle CG-9-100 9mm case gauge. I use the reverse side.
    Works like a charm.
