    Default Am I missing something?

One point seems to be missing in the description of restoring a straight razor.

You have done everything you intend to do to the blade. You have made new scales and finished them with your finish of choice. You have made a spacer or wedge. You have pinned the scales, blade, and wedge together. Everything works smoothly.

But something remains to be done.

The final fitting and finishing of the point end of the scales where the scales meet the wedge/spacer needs to be completed. There must be a final shaping and finishing there before the razor is complete.

    Or am I missing something.

You are correct - the wedge needs to be shaped to meet the scales

The shaping of the wedge is normally done before everything is pinned together. However you are correct, it does need to be done.

Yep you missed it completely, there are a few steps in all the tutorials about fitting the wedge all of that is found in the big RED sticky at the top of this forum..

There are actually quite a few tips and hints in those threads that explain how to do it correctly....

Yeah I saw it there too. It's something I think ought be done before the blade's in, but I don't think it really matters. Whatever works for you.
