Mine came in worse condition. Not a new razor, but very lightly used. The scales are a rather fragile and soft plastic, there are ways to straighten the scales, though it requires unpinning. What is the maker of your imp?

Shrunken scales are not unusual with Red Imps. I was told by an old Italian barber that they removed certain pigments and plastics to make te scales really red and the result was scales that shrunk over time. Chefbaze who has a bunch of them told me the same thing. The Case ones are excellent razors, very easy to hone.
