    I wanna try to make scales and I was curious if it would be easier with eithe wood, exotic wood, horn and so on and so forth and where can I acquire these products.

    I'm about to make my first set and decided to use acrylic as a first try it's cheap and you can get it in 1/8" thickness so not a lot of extra material to sand thin like wood blanks. I'll save that for later after I've done a few. TAP Plastics : TAP Plastics

    I've never got around to using G10 etc, but I have made wood scales and worked with horn for powder horns. Wood for me is a little more enjoyable to work with and I prefer the look of it for razors.

    Check out local signwriters as you could probably pick up scrap acrylic for nothing if they are going to throw it out
