The gold wash
Can u save the gold wash on a razor by putting electrical tape on it or will that damage it

Hey, T.
I've not had elec tape wear goldwash before - just make sure when setting a cranky bevel not to wear through the tape. Just handling the goldwash erases it - like where you hold the shank while stropping.
To clean, I've had good luck w/ Honda (motorcycle) spray polish. Harvitz had a comment on one of his blades for sale that there is some kind of acid that leaves the goldwash intact. I'd be interested in hearing more about this.

I've used electrical tape to protect gold wash on blades before while I have polished around it.
It worked fine

The electrical tape bit is one of those should have thought of that before I polished up my first SR. You live and learn.
