    Default One looooog arbor....

I just won this auction. I have wanted one ever since I saw them in the razor making videos of Dovo , Wacker etc.

For the new guys...the end can be removed and replaced with a buffing wheel, sanding wheel, grinding wheel etc. It is useful for grinding buffing a razor because there is adequate clearance so that the tang does not bump up against the motor housing or the chuck or tail stock on a lathe.

How in the world I will get it into my basement will be the real challange!

I'll bet that the pedestal base will unbolt from the main unit, it should be heavy, but more manageable.

What is that? A five horsepower 3 phase motor?

The first day you power this baby...have a couple good friends with video cameras rolling from different angles. The part where the wheel catches Randy and he goes around and around and around.... But your buddies could also hose you down and wash your clothes and let you dry at the same time.

I Like it! 3ph 220 might be a little problem for you in your home though! At least the 3ph part.

Phase convertors are easy to make if you have an extra 3hp ish motor laying aroung.
If the above is a single speed motor, a cheap digital convertor will work fine.

Since the primary use for this will be for razor restoration type of tasks I will be replacing the motor with a DC 1 1/2 HP and a variable speed controller that I have. The drive wheel on it now is far to big and turns the arbor/shaft much to fast for my use.

Mike...it would take a 10 HP motor to air dry me!

Hey Randy - I think our mini lathe attachment is a lot lighter, and probably works just as well. However, TAD is what it is. I just replaced my dead DC motor on my grinder with a 3HP 3phase motor and a phase converter. Sparks are flying again.
