On a side note, I've read in a couple of places that washing soda may be a better electrolyte as it is less corrosive. Just an FYI for anyone else thinking of trying this. OK Time to stop hijacking the molasses thread!

Well they took their sweet time to arrive, but the rusty blades have finally arrived. So if I get my act together, I might give electrolysis a shot this weekend. Something tells me it won't be nearly as satisfying as the manual approach, but if nothing else it will give my inner high-school science geek something to smile about.
