Post Next On The List - 9/16 Case Red Imp #132

Just got my Red Imp in today! Something about these, I just had to have one.

The scales were terribly shrunk and extremely warped so those are junk but after a de-scale the blade cleaned up great! I have a chipped "donor" razor with some black bakelite in great condition I will be pairing it with ....this will be my first re-scale !

Anyway on to the eye candy for now !

Here is an issue, the point has a tiny chip in it .... what would be the recommended approach? I have seen bread knifing the entire blade, using sandpaper to knock down the over all with evenly until the chips are gone. I have also seen just slightly rounding the point ....I want the nice point though, that's makes the blade!

If it makes a difference it looks as if this blade has never been honed outside of the factory

No suggestions on to sand down the length of the blade to remove this chip or if its better to just round the point??????

If you gotta keep the point, id use stones. If you take the easy route and round the point, id use stones for that too.

If you want to keep the Spike then you need to take off metal from the front, not the blade..

In the restoration game you can only remove metal, we haven't figured out how to add it back "Yet" so remove the least amout that is possible to achieve your goal.. In this "Case" (pun intended) that would be to shorten the length and keep the spike...

Myself I might go with Neutering the spike and call it good, but it isn't my razor
