Thanked: 6Appreciate it, cudarunner! That's very kind and generous. The Norton stone is copyrighted 1953 and the instructions on the box call for oil. I'll freely admit I bought it on impulse, as I don't know what kind of grit this stone would be, or much about stones at all. Ha, you guys are probably all freakin' out right now at my ignorance! I've been shaving with a straight for three months now and have got that under control, and have spent most of my time on SRP stalking the shaving threads before actually joining and posting. Aaaaaaanyway - I cleaned up the razor a bit tonite - pictures as follows:

I must admit, my photography skills will need some work as well! The razor does look better in person. Now I just gotta get some polish to get rid of the stains left on the blade. I think she'll be a decent shaver afterall!
