That big spot doesn't look good, if it's as bad as it looks on my screen I don't think it's possible to save

Thanked: 13249I really gotta agree with Rune, "From the Pic" that one looks to be toast..
two things
Judging by a pic is notoriously inaccurate
Another trick is to take an SE razor balde and shave off the black rust then see what is under there, it will tell you how deep the pitting and spider rust ate the metal

Ouch!!! That puppy looks like it has really been neglected. Too bad, it looks like it was a beauty once.

Almost looks like isolated cell rot. Like G said, get to the bottom of that spot and see what you've got. The 1056 is a fairly heavy grind so you may end up with a shaver but doubtful that you'll have a showpiece.

Grab some 220grit M3 sand paper and see how deep that rust spot goes. And I agree looks like a bit of cell rot.

Celluloid scales sometimes begin a chemical decomposition which will corrode steel. It may or may not be what happened there but it resembles some I've seen before. If that is what it is the scales are toast. It will happen again after the blade is cleaned and can effect other razors nearby. Might not be that though.
