Some hope
I butchered my last few scales but had some success with these. The wedge still needs some tweaking but it works. I would not travel with it though. The edge goes past the bottom of the scale when applying too much pressure to the spine. Thus, that is why I think the wedge needs some tweaking. I am sort of eyeballing everything so I know that will cause issues. I am thinking a bunch when I tweak the wedge. That is OK. This is a learning process. I went with nuts and screws this time that I picked up at Radio Shack. I think pinning a razor is an art unto itself I will learn later. So the scales are made from purple heart again. I still have some left so if I make some more scales they probably be purple heart too.

Hate screwing up something that you've spent time and money on that you can't fix.just did the same with a blade I was polishing with a Dremel. Luckily it was a little nick but now I have to completely rehone it.

I have enough heinous scales that I have made that I could start a popcicle factory...

You did a fine job.
All that really matters is, "Will she shave?"

Thanked: 50How about a center plug or rivet? That would keep the blade from passing below the scale.
