    Default Uneven Fix?

Hey gents - what if anything do you guys do if you buy aused blade with uneven hone ware? I have had a couple in the past that have oneside of the blade that's got a seemingly huge uneven area on the edge that's been worn, where on the other side it's a nice fine edge.

I have butterknifed one in the past only to note that it doesn't help as the spine is also worn unevenly...

I wonder - do you guys try to fix that or just leave it be? The ones I have still shave great so I have never bothered even thinking twice about it until now?

Cosmetically to be able to fix it would be great but I guess what I am really asking is - is it easy to do, or does it take a ton oh experience?

    Thanks gents.

pics would help us better answer your question...
if there is uneven honewear along the spine..tape was never used to protect it..not a deal breaker imo..but if the edge isnt even..then a new one will have to be made.

If it can be honed as is and gives a comfortable shave, I say leave it as is. If it can't be honed as is, then I would think about fixing it.

I recently sent one similar to your description to Mr. Lynn Abrams, and he honed it very well. That tells me it can be done.

It is possible to even out uneven honewear, but it takes a bit of effort.

I would put on a layer of tape to compensate a little for the wear and hone it up and see how it shaves.
