The start up
So me any me roommate have Decided to start up a little restoration shop in the garage. Seeing how I work as a security guard on 12 hour graveyards and have nothing better to do then surf the forum and EBay at night I thought hey let's try to price this out. After hours of looking here and on kijiijii and eBay Iv finally come up with a start up fee of around $600 but I think I'll be able to get some nice work out of it. Now I just Gota teach my partner how to use a scroll saw with out cutting off his fingers I'll see if I can get some pictures up in a couple weeks when I have it all assembled

Im not sure you are asking for advise or not, but here's a saying that goes way back with me. "If you cant do without, you cant do it with"
I suggest trying to "do without". I'd bet the best restorers on this site can do just as good with under 50$ worth of brand new equipment.
Either way, good luck from a fellow canadian!
Eric.

No question as to the other restorations, Iv seen some really beautiful razors. The main cost not really for restoring the blades themselfs it's for making scales

Thanked: 13246I think Eric is saying just that, the only difference in using power and not using power with working on razors is "Time" all power does is makes things go faster...
If you have already done it the slow "By Hand" way and that is too slow for you then by all means add power

Thanks guys all my blade restores have been done by hand todate but A few of my Bokers could use some new scales. I watched a 12 video restoration done by undream a few weeks ago and that really made me want to try my hand at making some scales of my own
