Can this be fixed or is it a letter opener now? It is a 11/16 blade that is an extra hollow grind with the damage reaching about half way up the secondary bevel (?) of the blade.Name: IMG_20120723_203747.jpg

    fahnreich:
I respectfully suggest you peruse the Wiki for the appropriate funeral rites...these include esoteric incantations uttered by yourself while a dirge plays in the background and Hooter's waitresses pile Hot Wings at your feet.

Photos can be very deceiving on a chipped edge. You can always send it to one of the restoration pros on this forum to evaluate. The most you loose is shipping to & back. She seems like a nice blade.

It can be honed out, but the blade will of course be quite a bit smaller, and from what it looks like in the pic there might also need to be done some work on the heel/stabilizers.

It can be hard to judge frome a picture, but if it is as deep as it looks I would call it off and rather spend my money on another razor unless it got some special value to you.

I honestly think Zephyr has the right idea. Sorry, but I think your razor is toast.

Sorry but i disagree, i would definately honed that out for sure and i dont think it would go into the stabilizer. And it sure looks like it would be worth it, others then the chip looks in good condition! If your going to kill it! please dont send it to me!

There's so many razors out there that need a good home. Let this one sleep.
