I'm new to str8 and have been carefully working through all the essentials. I hav now honed4 blades to pleasant shaving sharpness... one is probably close to HHT but my hair is too thin.

Now I want to dress up the scales. I'm fairly good at woodworking. My concern is the little pins.

I looked at a knife site that sold kits and parts for building knives. They use little torx screws that fit into barrels.

Any one here use that or tried it?

What generally are the sizes for the pins?
