Facepalm moment of the day....ugh...
After three years, I finally came across a naked lady razor and scooped it up. At some point the razor had been sloppily repinned and it was a bear to get the pins out. Here was the result...
and a closeup for fun.
At any rate, I'm thinking of gluing the pieces together (there are four of them) and then reproducing them in casting resin. Casting would also allow be to get rid of the dayglow pink that the scales came in. Soooo....do you think this would work or is there some other viable option I should be considering at this point other than pouring a stiff one and try to get over it.

Thanked: 1587Why not try it? You have not a lot to lose at this point, and it may just work. Bummer, by the way

Well, it seems that the whole casing resin idea seems to have WORKED! I bought an Alumilite kit for casting polyurethane and carefully glued all the pieces back together, made a silicone mold and cast that naked lady back up. It picked up all the detail of the original. The scales came out rigid, but not brittle. Since this was my first time doing this, I ended up with a bubble on the pivot pin side, but discovered it was a minor undercut on the mold that I removed.

Sooooo.... might you go into small time production of the scales?
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

Thanks, interesting process. I may have to try. Sorry about the original scales though.
