Default Major lovin' or need to be put down?

My coworker heard I was interested in straight razors so he brought this one in o_O Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349399275.768366.jpg

From what's on the razor it is a "Professional" from the Green's Supply Co. I haven't looked up any info so if anyone knows anything right quick, please share.

That's not why I'm posting this. This razor looks pretty terrible to me and I don't think it can be restored. I wanted to get your alls opinions. Can it be restored? (and I mean by a professional not myself)

It looks like there is a frown towards the heel and pretty big smile at the toe. Also you can't tell from the photos but the spine has been worn down (thinned) dramatically.

    Thanks for the help,
    D

Can it be made to shave again? Possibly. Is it worth it? Probably not.

Too far gone AFAIC. If it is free you can use the scales on something else down the road but the blade has too much improper hone wear to be worth bothering with.

Lots of old razors had spine wear. If the edge is O.K., then polish, hone & use her. Many ugly( sorry) razors shave fine. Remove the leather, clean & polish the holder, re-fit with new leather.
Put them both back on the line.

As long as the blade is not cracked, it likely can be made to shave again. It can't be restored to its original glory though, too much steel has been worn away. And probably not worth pouring labor into unless there's sentimental value or some such

    Remember dfafs,
Razors are just like babies, they are all beautiful, just some are more beautiful than others.

Lol thanks everybody. Yeah he showed this to me and I cringed. It looks like someone tried to hone w/ a power grinder.
