    Default 1st Restoration Cadidate?

I am a complete novice and would love some opinions and advice on a gift from my lovely wife (who is embracing my new hobby!)...This would be my first restoration. The item of concern is a notched wilbert with nifty red scales. It looks to me to be a good candidate but to reiterate I am a novice to the core and if nothing else it will be a nice keepsake from he wife. All opinions, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats, your wife sounds like an angel

It looks to be in fairly good gondition and with a little elbow grease and TLC it should be able to turn out nicely.

The etching on the blade also looks to be quite deep so I'd suppose it will survive some sanding.

    Good luck!

Looks like a nice candidate to me sir!
If you cleaned it up and have no experience in honing you can try it yourself if you're up to it.
Do show us the end result.
