Thanked: 67Restored Sprock razors
I have slowly been working on 3 blades which are all that remains of a seven day set of Sprock 6/8 hollow ground razors.
The scales are frosted acrylic, brass pins with steel washers, and lead spacers.
I couldn't get all the pitting out, especially on the green one, it was too deep, but fortunately only near the spines.
Since there are only the Monday, Tuesday and Saturday ones, they make an ideal seven-day set for someone who can't hold down a job and lies in bed with a hangover all Sunday - I think I'll keep them!

Looking good. I have a match Pair of Sprock's marked 1&2 that are currently out getting new scales done by Maxi.
What are you using to clean up the blades? On the green one it looks like the majority of the pitting is up middle towards the spine.

Thanked: 67Thanks.
I'm hand-sanding them with wet & dry paper. I usually start on 240 grit, but if the pitting is extra deep I'll use 120. After 400 and 600 wet & dry, I use micro-mesh.
I'd love to have a powered buffer, but don't have the space or cash for one.

Thanked: 2284I use a simple Buffing setup that cost me $16. I use a squeeze clamp and clamp a 3/8 drill to a bench. You lock the trigger on, and away you go. If you go to Lowes they have clothe buffing wheels, a drill attachment for the wheels, and a range of buffing compounds. It works really nice for razors and its so simple.

Thanked: 67Thanks, I didn't know that you could get buffing attachments for drills. Very helpful, I'll look into that.
