Here is a list that is mostly by Glen, I believe, from a year or two ago, that I put on paper to help me.

Shopping List for Micro Fasteners - Hobbyists Source - Locknuts - Washers - Machine Screws - Fasteners - Rivets - Wood Screws

Bolts: Hex Head Machine Screws - Brass - Micro Fasteners

    These HBB00121000-80 x 3/4$ 8.70

Nuts: Hex Nuts - Brass - Micro Fasteners

These as they are easier to use for mock up

    HNB00801000-805/32 .046$ 4.10

If you have any intention of using them for real then get these little ones

    HNBS0080500-80 scale3/32 .048$ 9.90

Washers: Flat Washers - Brass - Micro Fasteners

Get all these in brass for in and out

    FWB0100#0.064 1/8 .017$ 3.80

    FWBW0100#0 wide.064 3/16 .017$ 4.40

In SS Flat Washers - Stainless - Micro FastenersGet these

    FWSS0100#0 Narrow Washer S/S I.D. .062xO.D..125x Thk .017$ 2.20

    FWS00100#0$ 2.20

If you are going to actually use these for pivots then you need the wrenchs (2) and you need to call for those they are 3/32 hex these might be listed online now I haven't checked in years...

    ..............not my quote, BTW

I made a couple of wrenches from two pieces of metal and a dremel.

I made a correction, above, the information I believe is from one of Glen's posts or from the library. I just put it on paper to paste out when someone asked this question.

Thanks all. I just hate ordering things online for some reason. I get a bit of trepidation when placing orders. So just wanted to double check. I am going to give it one more go before I let a pro do the scales. I have made some in past but have never been completely satisfied. This time the scales will be in Brazilian Cherry. Going to take my time and not use a Dremel. See how that goes.

Yes,take your time,it will get better.Scales seem to be simple things. But is alot of geometry to getting them perfect,Glad to hear the Dremel will not be used.

1/16" brass rod can be found at many Ace Hardware stores. It's usually "in the back", not the main part of the store so ask the oldest guy there.
