    Default Scale Identification

I'm in the process of cleaning up a VER. Barlow Sheffield that I picked up (first restore) and I need help identifying the scale material before I can search for the best way to clean these scales.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

they're either wood or horn. Can't tell for sure until more gunk is cleaned off of it. Look closely if the black stuff is painted on. Its wood if it is.
