Scale Identification
I'm in the process of cleaning up a VER. Barlow Sheffield that I picked up (first restore) and I need help identifying the scale material before I can search for the best way to clean these scales.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanked: 44they're either wood or horn. Can't tell for sure until more gunk is cleaned off of it. Look closely if the black stuff is painted on. Its wood if it is.
