Thanked: 1W.M. Elliot with new scales
So I was attempting to polish the blade up a little bit on this eBay special I bought and broke one of the scales. I figured this was a perfect opportunity to try and make some. I found some scrap acrylic sheets at work and made these. I used steel wool to add a frost look to them. The wedge is a black guitar pick that I shaped to fit in. Hopefully I can get the pictures to upload

Thanked: 1I used my drill and a belt sander to sand some threaded brass rod to about 1/16th of an inch. I drilled the holes to match. Then i peeked the pins in. I shaved with it tonight too. Awesome!

As a musician, diggin the pick wedge.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Those are pretty sweet! What did you use to cut and then shape the edges of the scale?

Thanked: 1I cut out the shapes on the band saw. I used double sided tape the hold the pieces together and shaped it down with a belt sander. Fine tuned with 220 grit paper. The wedge was a Clayton acetal black raven 1.5 mm pick

Thanked: 12Love the clear look. I have tried working with acrylic but failed each time. Maybe it's time to try again!
